Joliet is in Illinois, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Joliet follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. I had the worst experience ever here. I got sick within a half hour of eating their food. (Mind you we were still there) When I was in the restroom one of the toilets were not working and the soap dispenser had no soap, could you imagine? Having food poisoning coming out of both ends and almost shitting yourself because one toilet isn’t working and then running to the other one. Once you’re done you can’t even wash your hands because there is no soap. The sushi looked like mush, and their hibachi was very very dry. When I told/asked my waitress about it she did not care. So plan on paying over $50 for food poisoning and them not giving a DAMN!! Update: My Boyfriend is now also sick! PLEASE PLEASE CHOOSE ANYWHERE ELSE TO DINE

Okay I’ve never left a review period on any restaurant before but I felt the need to leave one on Sushi Ya. This restaurant served the worst sushi I’ve ever had, point blank period. The fish did not seem fresh and everything had a weird taste to it. The only good thing was we had a decent server which is why I rated the service a 2. I would not recommend this restaurant to my worst enemy. I’m sure the owner is going to leave some sort of copy-paste apology about how they hear my concerns and how they’re sorry for my inconvenience. But the truth is, there’s no way in hell they’re even remotely sorry. I wouldn’t feed this sushi to my dog, that’s how bad it truly is. If you’re in the Joliet area I would highly recommend Cho Sushi instead. You’d even be better off going to Jewel-Osco, that’d be a major step-up in quality from this place, not exaggerating. I hope when you read this you can feel my passion as to how genuinely horrible this restaurant is. Please for the love of everything holy, DO NOT COME HERE. And if you do go, don’t say I didn’t tell you so. I can’t wrap my head around the fact that you’d run a restaurant and serve food of such poor quality. I might make a yelp account

Sushi was delicious, it was our first time trying it out. Service wasn’t great, I walked in to place an order to go. I kindly asked the lady working at the time what was the most popular sushi 🍣 surprisingly her answer was that it was “very” expensive. I was pretty much in shock with that answer and very offended. I probably should’ve walked out, yet I stayed and ordered the “very expensive “ sushi. My family and I enjoyed the sushi very much, but with that comment I don’t think we will be coming back.

Okay the last time 2 times I went here I was quite disappointed in the quality of the food and the quality of the cuts of fish and preparation. The last couple times have been just so sad. I used to love this place but for $33 there are much better places that make a better quality nigiri. I don’t know if management is aware they are cheaping out. But they need to. I won’t be coming back and won’t get my money again. Just not good. Not good at all.

Food came out hot. Waitresses were pleasant and knowledgeable on the menu. Place is clean and smells good. Ordered crab Rangoon but it’s cheese Rangoon eliminating the crab. It’s a cheeper version and doesn’t taste as good. However just don’t order the Rangoon. Looks like they have all you can eat sushi. Which is a plus! And they have hibachi which is delicious. I will come again. Good restaurant and tasty food!
